Royal Africans Mineral Reasource (PTY) LTD better known as RAMRES is a Level 1, 100% Black owned contract mining and minerals trading company specializing in, and not limited to contact mining, mine rehabilitation and minerals trading.
02. LOGO DESIGN BRIEF
We got tasked with designing a logo for a mining company with the initial brief being “Carte Blanche”, however they had quite a few changes in mind that were requested.
The below images are references to what the client had in mind to use as inspiration:
Client loved how bold the name of the company is, and advised
to use that for the acronym. Boldness is usually used when designing a logo for a mining company.
Client loved the arch or swoosh that runs through the letters, and advised
to incorporate that within the acronym, and include the full company name
below it as seen on the reference.
Client loved the africanism behind this logo, and how it included a miner to
showcase the type of company, and requested that the icon of RAMRES be
similar in such a way that it has the african map but with the protective hat
look as if it is pouring gold out of the hat within the african map.
The below showcases our design options that we thought fit the brief for a logo for a mining company created in Phase 1 to present to the client:
As mentioned at 02 the below is what we ended up revising according to what the client wanted. The client was indeed satisfied with the revised design presented:
Next Sphere is a super extended, bold and futuristic display font family
Montserrat is a geometric sans-serif typeface. It is rather close in spirit to Gotham and Proxima Nova, but has its own individual appearance—more informal, less extended and more idiosyncratic.
